What happens if I don’t allow location access?
You won’t be able to check in to places near you or see your current location on the map. Everything else works as usual.
- Use Choose on Map to record a spot on the map or the location at the center of the map.
- Use Add Past Visit to search for a place, or enter just a name and a country.
- To allow location access later, go to Privacy & Security > Location Services > Hic Fui in the iOS Settings app.
My data doesn’t sync with iCloud
- Make sure all of your devices are signed in to iCloud with the same Apple Account.
- In the iOS Settings app, go to your Apple Account > iCloud and make sure iCloud is turned on for Hic Fui.
- You can check the iCloud Sync status in the app’s Settings screen.
- Depending on your connection, changes may take some time to appear.
I want to restore from a backup
In the app’s Settings screen, tap Restore from Backup and choose a backup (JSON) exported from Hic Fui. Before restoring, the app shows how many items will be added and updated.
Restoring adds the records in the backup and updates any records that already exist. Your current records are not deleted. CSV files are for spreadsheets and can’t be used to restore.
I want to change the display language
The app is available in English and Japanese. By default, it follows your device’s language, and uses English if your language isn’t supported.
You can change the language in the iOS Settings app under Apps > Hic Fui > Language. You can also open it from Language in the app’s Settings screen. If Language doesn’t appear, add a language to Preferred Languages in General > Language & Region.
Why are visit times shown in local time?
Visit dates and times are shown in the time zone of the place you visited, and yearly stats are counted in local time too. This keeps the dates of visits you log abroad correct after you get home.
If a place’s time zone is wrong, you can change it in the place’s details.
The same place was saved twice
Use Merge with Another Place in the place’s details to combine them. Places with the same name and places nearby are suggested. When you merge, all visits move to the place you merge into. This can’t be undone.
